New Youth Curriculum: Teach Me Your WayIn a culture that encourages young people to ignore or rebel against authority, a curriculum that teaches submission to God and His ways can leave an indelible mark in the heart and minds of young people. In Teach Me Your Way, available July 2008, author Sally Michael encourages junior high students to submit their minds, hearts, and wills to God and His ways. This curriculum provides a theologically in-depth look at the Sermon on the Mount through a study of Matthew 5-7. The study uses physical realities to demonstrate spiritual realities, and engaging questions to guide students to discover the truths taught. Teach Me Your Way uses an interactive approach that combines teaching and small group discussions to help students think through critical issues such as salvation and surrender. Each lesson ends with a time of application and prayer in small groups. The study features an attractive journal designed to be used by students both in class and at home to encourage reflection and application of God's Word. It also encourages interaction between students and parents as they work through the book The Pursuit of God (sold separately). The target age for the curriculum is 7th grade. Future plans for youth curricula include a hands-on study for 7th-8th grade called "Open My Eyes"(available Summer 2009), which teaches students the skills of inductive Bible study. |
